NYC Academics partners with an ABA Specialist, who applies behavioral principles consistently in all interactions with children.
- Implements Individualized Treatment Plans (ITPs) and Individualized Educational Plans (IEPs)
- Teaches the children to acquire language, academic, self-help, and social skills.
- Assists students, as needed, to acquire academic and/or appropriated life skills.
- Develops program plans and other instructional activities.
- Becomes fluent in the understanding of the Verbal Behavior Milestones Assessment and Placement Program (VB-MAPP)
- Assists in creating instructional materials
- Consistently implements behavior plans to reduce children's socially inappropriate behavior and promotes appropriate social behaviors that will enhance learning
- Completes daily paperwork and data collection notes in a detailed, accurate, consistent, and timely manner
- Openly flexible and responsible in working with multiple children at one time, when necessary
